We all use store bought products to save time, and there is nothing wrong with that. Even though I prefer home made over store bought, it would be virtually impossible to make everything from scratch unless we have nothing else to do but cook, and lets face it, even when we make homemade food, we often use store bought ingredients to make it.
Making what we eat takes a little time, but in the end, the advantages of homemade are numerous. Just knowing what went into our preparation is good enough reason for me.
But the one thing I try to always make myself, are salad dressings. I mean there is no excuse to buy store bought salad dressings, when making it yourself literally takes minutes! The bonus is you can control what you put into it.
This Catalina salad dressing is one of our favourites, it takes about 2 minutes to put together, and honestly, I never found a store bought one that tastes better! It stays good in the fridge for weeks, and not only it is good as a salad dressing, but I’ve also used it as a marinade for chicken. In fact I will share with you an amazing chicken wings recipe, using this salad dressing! Stay tuned!
